Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF).
Building connections through storytelling and strategy, turning followers into a thriving community.
Unifying a Digital Presence
From 2021 to 2023, I managed the social media accounts for Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) North Carolina Chapter. Following the organization's transition into a single statewide chapter in 2020, I developed a cohesive social media strategy to consolidate and streamline four separate accounts across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter (now X). This strategy brought clarity to our audience, strengthened our brand identity, and created a unified presence that better represented our chapter’s mission and vision.
I transformed Breakthrough T1D NC’s Instagram into a vibrant hub for storytelling, leveraging visually engaging content and interactive features like polls and stories to foster deeper connections with the community. This approach not only boosted follower growth but also amplified audience engagement, driving awareness for the chapter’s mission and events.
I optimized Facebook by focusing on community-driven content, including success stories, event highlights, and interactive posts that encouraged dialogue and support. This strategy strengthened brand loyalty, increased event participation, and converted followers into active supporters.
On LinkedIn, I curated professional content tailored to highlight the chapter’s advocacy efforts, partnerships, and leadership in the Type 1 Diabetes community. By sharing thought leadership posts and industry updates, I positioned Breakthrough T1D NC as a trusted authority, driving increased engagement from key stakeholders and professionals.
